Department of Sanskrit:
The Dept of Sanskrit has been functioning pro-actively ever since the inception of the College in 1960. Many renowned educationists of the Barak valley like former Vice Chancellor Prof. Tapodhir Bhattacharya, noted grammarian Shri Kshitish Paul Choudhury, former Principals Dr. Sukhamoy Bhattacharya and Shri Rameshwar Brahmachari, Prof. Haripada Chakravarty and other eminent Sanskrit scholars have imparted teaching here.
The Dept has continued the worthy tradition of publishing a research Journal named Prajna Bharati which found approval of UGC and ISSN, It conducts Spoken-Sanskrit workshops and courses approved by Rastriya Sanskrit Sansthan, UGC and Sanskrit Bharati, elocution contests and invited lectures from eminent Sanskritists routinely. It organises Seminars and Conferences from time to time. Its students have active presence in co-curricular activities like Sanskrit Diwas, Saraswati Puja, Sharodotsava, Social week etc and some have qualified for govt. scholarships as well.
