The National Cadet Corps (NCC), the largest uniformed youth organization of the world established in 1948 by the National Cadet Corps Act, 1948 is a voluntary organisation which recruits students of Colleges and Universities. Its motto is 'Unity and Discipline' and is engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.
Cachar College Wing:
The Cachar College NCC Boys (Army) wing was established in the year 2005 under 3 Assam Battalion with only 20 cadets. Since then, the NCC has passed through a long 15 glorious years. Now, with more than 100 cadets in strength, every year average 10 cadets could successfully induct them in central and state defence forces. Besides that, almost all the cadets could establish them in several spheres of society and contribute their best for well-being of the country.

Duties of NCC Cadets:
Every year, The NCC wing conducts and participates in different programme as and when scheduled by the Battalion. Besides that, the wing celebrates many occasions in College and surrounding areas like awareness, cleanliness activities. On different occasions the name of Cachar College NCC wing is proudly mentioned by the Battalion for its excellent tasks. One cadet in 2015 and two cadets in 2019 successfully participated in Republic Day Camps held in New Delhi. Besides that many cadets were selected for various National level camps every year adding glory to the NCC wing of Cachar College, Silchar.
How to Join:
The Cachar College NCC Boys wing always endeavours to provide the best practices available in order to prepare an upright and devoted citizen of the country. Every year new cadets are inducted from among the newly admitted students of HS/TDC first year/semester through a standard selection process. The whole course is divided into three years and every year a cadet has to undergo a definite training session including State, Regional and National level camps. B certificate is awarded to the second year passed out cadets and C certificate is awarded to the third year passed out cadets after qualifying in the examination conducted by NCC Directorate.
