TDC First Semester and HS First Year : Session: 2017-18)

Admission Process:
From the current academic session (2017-18), Cachar College is introducing ONLINE ADMISSION PROCESS for HS FIRST YEAR and TDC FIRST SEMESTER only with cashless transactions. Such a process of admission is initiated to ease the admission procedures and to ensure transparency in the admission process. The students can submit the application form, following quick and simple steps from anywhere, for admission to HS/TDC courses. Students are advised to read carefully the College Prospectus regarding various rules for admission, reservation, allotment of seats etc.

All admissions procedures for HS First Year and TDC First Semester (Arts/Commerce/Science) in Cachar College shall be processed through its online admission portal. Consequently, prospectus and application forms shall NOT be available in the College office. Interested students may visit (through the internet) the newly launched online admission portal of the College (https://admission-cc.net) and can submit the application forms required for admission into different courses offered by the College.

Online admission portal for admission to both HS and TDC programmes of studies in Cachar College consists of the following steps: -

Step 1: Fill in the Application Form online providing correct and complete information.

Step 2: Submit the filled in form online.

Step 3: Make the payment of Application Fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees two hundred) online using internet banking, debit/credit/cash cards, Wallets etc.

(Never share your Internet Banking Password, Debit Card/Credit Card PIN, CVV with any person directly or over phone).

Step 4: Take a print out each of the filled in form and payment receipt generated from the system.

Step 5: Affix your stamp size photograph in the space provided for, put the signature of the applicant and signature of her/his father/mother/guardian in the respective spaces.

Step 6: Watch out for the Selection List to be posted on the site after the date of closure of submission of admission form.

Step 7: Only the selected candidates will appear before the Admission Committee in the College as per the notified schedule for physical verification of documents with the following items:

i) Print out of the system generated filled in form duly signed by the applicant and Father/Mother/Guardian of the applicant in the specified spaces.

ii) The Money Receipt generated by the system as a proof of payment of Application Fee online.

iii) A set of self attested xerox copies along with the original set of the academic documents, caste/category certificates(if necessary), income certificate from the competent authority (if applied for the Fee Waiver Scheme)

iv) A photograph of the sapling planted at home (if applied for the Fee Waiver Scheme) with the Name, Class, Application Number written on the reverse of the photograph.

v) 3 (three) stamp size photographs of the applicant, one of which should be pasted (not stapled) on the filled in form in the space provided for.

vi) Enrolment Card of Cachar College (if the applicant has passed HS from Cachar College).

Step 8: After successful verification of the documents, the selected candidates will have to make the payment of Admission Fees online on the same site using internet banking, debit/credit/cash cards, Wallets etc

All these EIGHT STEPS are mandatory to complete the admission formalities.

REMEMBER:-    Visit the Cachar College web site (http://cacharcollege.ac.in), Cachar College Admission Portal (http://admission-cc.net), your email account and your mobile message box regularly during admission period and to obtain information regarding Selection List, Scheduled Date and Time of Counselling Session/Payment of Fees/Collection of Enrollment Cards/Identity Card/College Uniform/Registration Process etc. to be notified by the College Authority.






Necessary documents:

(all ORIGINAL COPIES are to be shown at the time of Counselling Session and Self-attested copies be submitted along with two copies of recent PP size (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) coloured photographs (write Application No. on the reverse of photographs)

1. Admit card of HSLC (or equivalent) examination for both HS & TDC admission (required as a proof of age).

2. Marksheet of HSLC (or equivalent) examination for both HS & TDC admission.

3. Marksheet of HS Final Year (or equivalent) examination for TDC admission.

4. Character Certificate issued by the Principal of institution last attended.

5. Category/Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (required in case of SC/ST (P)/ST (H)/OBC/MOBC).
6. Parent/Guardian Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.

7. Certificate issued by the Competent Authority for Differently Abled Person.

8. Certificate/document issued by the Competent Authority related to Sports Quota/ Wards of Employees of the College/NCC/ Scouts & Guides/Proficient in Cultural Activities.

8. AHSEC/AUS Registration Card, if any, for HS/TDC admission (required if the student apply for re-admission to HS/TDC).
9. Gap Period Certificate to be issued by the Head of the Educational Institution last studied/Gazetted officer/registered medical practitioner in case of students seeking admission who have passed the qualifying examination in 2015 or 2016.

10. Enrolment Card of Cachar College (if the applicant has passed HS from Cachar College).

11. Migration / Transfer Certificate / Transfer Permission Letter as the case may be.

12. 3 (three) stamp size photographs of the applicant, one of which should be pasted (not stapled) on the filled in form in the space provided for.



Important Instructions:

1. Admission to HS/TDC will be made purely on merit (percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination) basis subject to the rules and regulations of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati – 781 021, Assam (AHSEC)/Assam University, Silchar (AUS).

2. All admissions to HS/TDC are provisional subject to the approval of AHSEC/AUS.

3. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in year prior to 2017:

   (a) 5% marks will be deducted from the actual percentage of marks secured by a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination in the year 2016;

   (b) 10% marks will be deducted from the actual percentage of marks secured by a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination in the year 2015;

4. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in the year 2016 or 2015 must submit GAP PERIOD CERTIFICATE issued by the Head of the Educational Institution last studied/Gazetted officer/registered medical practitioner.

5. As only two years or less gap period will be considered for admission, candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in the year 2014 or earlier are advised NOT to apply for admission in Cachar College as their application will NOT be considered for admission.

6. Deduction in percentage marks as mentioned above shall only be used for admission purpose and shall not be used in other purposes/cases (like scholarship/awards etc.).

7. The subject Physical Education will not be considered as qualifying subject for admission.

8. Grace Marks shall NOT be considered to calculate marks secured by the candidate.

9. The college reserves seats for students belonging to SC, ST(P), ST (H), OBC and MOBC categories from the state of Assam as per Government rules. These seats are allotted to candidates on the basis of original certificates issued by Competent Authorities.

10. Admission to the college hostel will be held immediately after the college admission, for which separate application in prescribed form is to be submitted. Admission will be strictly on merit basis.

11. If any student, after admission, remains absent continuously for 15 days in the classes from the commencement of the regular classes without any intimation to the college authority or to the concerned departments his/her admission will be cancelled without notice and his/her seat will be filled up from the Selection List.

12. If, for any unavoidable circumstances, a students be unable the attend personally before the Admission Committee during Councselling Session, his/her inability must be intimated in writing to the Principal, Cachar College, Silchar (emailid: cacharcollege60@gmail.com) before the scheduled date, else his/her name shall be struck off from the Selection List and other candidates from the Wait List may be considered for admission.

Intake Capacity:

All admissions to Higher Secondary First Year and TDC First Semester in Cachar College shall be in accordance to Uniform Policy of Admission of Students into the Colleges in different Streams of Government and Provincialised Colleges of Assam vide Govt. of Assam O.M. No.AHE.250/2014/1, dated 05-06-2014.

As per Govt. of Assam rules, there is a provision for reservation of seats for SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC/MOBC and Differently Abled candidates belonging to the State of Assam seeking admission into colleges in different streams of Government and Provincialised Colleges of Assam. Moreover, Govt. of Assam has earmarked a maximum of 5% seats for outstanding Sports Persons, Wards of the employees of the colleges, NCC Cadets/Scouts & Guides, Persons with Proficiency in Cultural Activities. In compliance with the above rules/instructions/ guidelines, the number of seats to be offered for admission for the academic session 2017-18 in different class/stream/ shift under each programme of study are hereby notified for general information.

Further, it is notified for all concerned that admission shall be on the basis of merit based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination subject to above reservation of seats, and that there shall be no discretionary Quota of Seats to be filled up by the Principal, Donor or any other authority.
